How do I connect my email domain so I can send email from Votel?
To send email from a workflow's email step or a campaign, you need a domain connected to send from. You do not need to move your email to Votel.
- Go to Settings, then Integrations, then Email domains, and connect your email domain.
- A pop-up shows the DNS records. Copy and paste them into your DNS provider (for example GoDaddy or Cloudflare). They do not fill in automatically.
- Leave the domain as sending only, which is the default, unless you want Votel to be your inbox. Sending only needs SPF, a domain key (DKIM) and DMARC records and no MX record change.
- Create sender identities on the domain, as many as you like (for example one per team member). Campaigns and email steps let you pick the sender from a drop-down, so the sender must be set up first.
Sending uses Votel's mail servers, not your own SMTP server, so there is no spam or relay problem from your own server. Connecting Gmail under Integrations is only for sending.
